[Poll #1227253][Poll #1227253]

No, I did not include Kermit. I mean, I'm not giving away FREE drabbles here. Sheesh. Work for it a little, people.

I don't get all of these but I know Mowgli was in Jungle Book, was read Beatrix Potter as a child (that pike was scary) and why you want to call the frog after a lawyer I am not sure. I would rather have it called after an Egyptian goddess!

Of course I wouldn't name my frog after a lawyer. *scoffs*

But that's two and a half out of seven, so PROMPT me already! *nudge*

Ah right ... not being American I didn't get the Devil and Daniel Webster thing totally right ...

Prompt ... something with Morgan, Merlin and Oma meeting somewhere and Daniel watching?

I was gonna go with one of the references - maybe Mowgli, or Jabba - but... George just seems like a really good froggy name.

Daniel Webster, as in the Devil and. Nice choice. I like pretentious names for small animals.

Frogs are good Fung Shui to have in your dwelling. Or so the Fung Shui books say. Personally, I'm down with any critter that eats bugs, myself!

Wow, I was going for "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County" (Mark Twain), not the Devil and Daniel Webster. But it is a little flattering to be thought even more pretentious than I actually am.

And I adore pretentious names for small animals too (Oliver Wendell Holmes! You WIN!)

I'm all for pretentiousness. I believe in a healthy fear of the quotidian, after all. :)

(I know, it was an awesome name for him, I just wish he'd worked out.)

Oh man, he didn't? Last I heard you were worried, but I missed the final decision. I'm so sorry.

It's all right, these things happen. It's for the best, I suppose, I'm going to be going to a new school next year and the pup would be here all alone with Adam, and if he had been less high-strung, that wouldn't be an issue, but he was and it was and...yeah. Thanks, I guess would be the appropriate thing to say at this point.

...and how did I just now notice Aristophanes on your list? I liked "The Frogs" okay, but "Lysistrata" is fantastic! You could name him Xanthias, after all, if Aristophanes is not pretentious enough in this instance.

You know, it was really starting to worry me that no-one on my flist had noticed Aristophanes. So, you know, thanks :)

I pinged too quick to good ol' Daniel Webster, methinks.

Have I earned a drabble yet? :-P

I'd say Michigan J Frog. Alas, there's no "other" option in the poll.

And others have already gotten the references I thought I knew.

I did not know he had a name! Nice!

(so, prompt me?)

I get to prompt? Cool.

Jack/Daniel (or Jack & Daniel, your choice)... timing. temerity. tupperware.

:)

Heket, just because I like Egyptian-ness.

(Is this him? http://www.zo.utexas.edu/research/txherps/frogs/bufo.debilis.html )

Nope, he's definetely a frog, not a toad. If he was a toad, I would just have to put up a "Toad Hall" sign and there would really be no question of what to name him.

Will you go through the programming schedule and put your name and a priority ranking (must see, want to see if there's nothing better, could be interesting) next to it, and email it to me? I'm going to make an spreadsheet for us to plan with.

Um, sure. Wow, that's a big job! I'll just stick ratings on my own little list I threw together. Where should I send it? There's only the lj email in your profile.
