This was written by a Seattle-area middle-schooler back in 2001ish and posted as part of Seattle's "poetry on the busses" thing. I've had it saved to my hard drive ever since.
Hearing Richard Dean Anderson say, "yes sir" really turns me on. Most men, really, but his is especially good.
As far as I can tell, Macgyver as spent the last three years getting impulsively kissed by a new beautiful woman every week. Every two weeks at the outside. And yet he still manages to look sweetly surprised and dazed every time. I like that in a man.
I want this so badly I can hardly stand it. Even though I'm not a gamer anymore. *grabby hands*
I am asking for Wizard of Earthsea for Yuletide, so I did some digging around the archive. These two fics are two of the most beautiful things I've ever read:
Ligting the Lamps. Short. Ged and Tenar. Not explicit. Beautiful beyond words for it.
Of Thistles and Fir Cones. Aihal, who we knew all too briefly as Ogion.
to icarus, with love
down beneath the waves
no longer a wax-winged prodigy
just another blue-eyed blue-lipped boy
lost with all eternity to whisper:
love isn’t real until it blisters your skin
isn’t lost until your face has been forced beneath the surface
boy of seaweed hair,
give us a happy ending
the sun promises to requite your love if you return
icarus, i will find your bones and burn them.
