Th: I just bought gas at $2.81. WTF? Never thought THAT would happen again. A full tank for $26! In freaky time warp. Afraid I may have stumbled into science ficiton short story.

$15 for one checked bag, on the first time in YEARS I didn't pack carry-on-able just in case? You can fuck right off, Continental.

And... bad weather in Newark delays my flight enough to miss my connection, so Continental puts me on a non-stop that gets me to Baltimore two hours earlier than my scheduled time, at no cost, and manages to get my bag there too. Nevermind, Continental: you're forgiven. I normally carry everything on anyway.

I shamelessly attached myself to [livejournal.com profile] popmusicjunkie and her roomful for the day, which was fun, and then [livejournal.com profile] als_wonderland showed up and it turned out she is truly and utterly amazing, and funny and sharp and sexy. Saw [livejournal.com profile] wendy- yaay! Had A Moment meeting [livejournal.com profile] thenyxie. Shared room with [livejournal.com profile] amara_m for the night- Amara, honey! I've missed you and you are so fun to talk to.

Fri: everybody's tinfoil artistry astonishes me! Went as Statue of Liberty. With flaming torch. I think [livejournal.com profile] als_wonderland's Mad Hatter hat was one of the best there. (But also a Medusa! And winged helmet! And other cool things)

Worked reg desk and had Another Moment meeting [livejournal.com profile] maygra and [livejournal.com profile] gekizetsu (OMG I am in AWE of her). Discovered that [livejournal.com profile] lazy_daze is very cute and I adore [livejournal.com profile] missyjack's accent.

Vidshow: Channel Hopping is still one of the funniest things ever. The Way I Am and Be My Yoko Ono are so ridiculously OTP for me, and made me fall in love with Dean all over again. The Fifth Circle was astonishing. And I am desperate to talk about Still Alive, because I think it was a brilliant idea and I don't know to what extent I got it and I really feel the need to hear people's thoughts on it. Then, back at the hotel room, [livejournal.com profile] miriad showed me Another Sunday, which is a SGA vid set to We Built This City (Basically, "We built Atlantis on solid undiluted ass-kicking awesomeness." It's so squee-inducing) and Boulevard of Broken Dreams, which is a gorgeous multi-fandom commentary on Mal Reynolds, Jack O'Neill, John Crichton, and Dean Winchester as four variations on an archetype... which. God. (can provide, if any of these sound interesting to you)

Sat: Much goodness happened. Skipped many panels- this was actually a surprisingly un-fannish con for me, compared to the last Wincon and Escapade. Didn't really talk about Show much at all, and there weren't as many actual meta panels as last year, and what there were, I skipped. Now that I actually have fannish friends, being able to talk about my obsessions is not a strange and unusual thing to be relished, and I can mostly just enjoy being on vacation and people I really love.

Only panel I went to was [livejournal.com profile] poisontaster's sex panel, mostly because she is awesome. Now feel the need to poll my straight male friends on "dick" versus "cock."

Very brief time in the roadhouse, where I discovered that [livejournal.com profile] kroki_refur is absolutely nothing like I expected (in the very nicest, cutest, friendliest way possible). Purple nurples! \o/

Back to roadhouse around 2 am. That was, bar none, the most collectively drunken room I have ever been in. Seriously, more drunkenness in a smaller space than I have ever before seen (which probably says more about how tame my college years were, but still).

My main personal goal for the con was to go see the ocean, and miriad wanted to see the filming locations for Homicide: Life on the Street, so she herded the cats to get us (plus [livejournal.com profile] sinnerforhire and [livejournal.com profile] tsuki_no_bara down there. Got to sit on a pier and watch the ocean, and walk around an utterly beautiful bit of city where I wouldn't mind living at all. My soul is soothed. Salt air does that.
