Yaay gaming

Gaming last night- I got a seat at Struggle of Empires, which I hadn't played before (I think only two at the table had). There are certain assumptions you can make about a game with "of empires" in the title, and this lived up beautifully, with actual playtime lasting from 8:30 to 1:30 in the morning. The game does have a good innovation, with a periodic bidding mini-game thing to establish alliances. It's brilliant and totally changes the strategy of the game, even if it does read a bit like picking teams in middle school gym (You'll pay 5? Well, I'll pay 6 to get Ben on my team!). I struggled to a hard-fought second, despite barely being able to keep my eyes open, and had a wonderful time talking to Robert. Yaay gaming nights!

Plus, it looks like I'm going to Strategicon here in LA in February. Three straight days of games! Play-testing a new Munchkin! In-person Diplomacy and werewolf! When did I become such a con addict? *excited*

Of course, today I'm dead on my feet. And I fear I won't get my rounds_of_kink  amnesty round thing done, or anything for vitamin_fic . I really got a late start on everything I wanted to get done this month.
