OK, so when I finished work last night I completely faceplanted into this post and didn't come up for air for about 2 hours, and when I did I was smiling like a loon. So, thanks for that. Warning: I'm about to sound like a lunatic. Whee! Adam is now my favorite person who I don't actually know. I have definitely been won over. I watched a bunch of the Idol vids and then watched the "I can" clip again and was just gleeful at his...determination, I think. And someone left the local paper open to the music section today, and I just happened to notice that Adam will be passing through for a concert in July, and since the tickets were pretty cheap, I bought one. *has lost "be sensible" part of brain somewhere recently*
I totally love the friendship he has with Kris and agree with you about reading realistic Kris/Adam fic, sorta how I got uncomfortable reading realistic J2 once I found out who they were last year. I read a couple Kris/Adam stories last week, and thought they were very happy and fluffy, but didn't know anything but their faces, and knowing more changes things for me.
Sorry this is so long, but I have a thinky question for you. Have you ever read any posts or discussion about how slashing Adam is different/wrong because he's gay in real life? I'm not saying it is, but it was an idea that occurred to me last night. From his playful attitude in interviews it seems like something he might find hilarious, but I'd always thought slash was largely about subverting the expected interactions between characters/people based on their expected heteronormative roles, and just by being who he is Adam does that.
