Trying not be spoilery here for Dragojustine but I used to be a CSI:Miami fan until they started to do daft things in Season Four ... which is the season we see Shanks in ...
That episode BTW ... the clothing they put on him (what I had begun to call 'Miami Brights') looks really strange [you may disagree] and poor David Caruso was doing his daft best to growl and be a pain in the neck.
I'm not sure if I swallow this, but I am sure I read somewhere that he was having problems acting with someone who might just be possibly slightly more **popular** than him. A lot of what was shot apparently was left on the cutting room floor. When there is another con with questions someone needs to ask Mr S what it was like working in CSI:Miami ... The scene with Calleigh wasn't too bad though apart from the fact its not his hand we see - the director's commentary on the DVD I have explained how they edited it in later.
p.s. When I saw Eureka my head went; 'Beneath the Surface' (Mr Shanks doing tough rather than prissy) and I thought he was having to hold back very hard from delivering that spiel about Google in a Daniel-like manner.
