So I remember to announce when I'm leaving, but forget to come back. Really, I do this thing where I start reading my flist again, but if I've been away for too long I tend to forget that I can, you know, post. In short, I had a wonderful lovely fantastic phenomenal amusing trip to NY, and then a terrible horrible no good very bad trip to Chicago, which somehow ended up okay in the end (The Boy and I are still on speaking terms, at least, and it has gone in the arsenal of Funny In Retrospect).

I am getting new glasses, though only after the Lenscrafters lady was mean to me and made me cry. (No, really, sobbing in the middle of the mall. I mean, there's bad customer service, and then there's just mean. PSA: Lenscrafters is evil.)

I am beset by vid bunnies, and trying to figure out how I go about kidnapping a competent vidder, chaining them to a desk, and forcing them to do my will. Perhaps I shall post them?

Is anyone willing to beta about 1700 words of G-rated, post-series, seriously emotionally ambiguous and meandering J/D? I would love you a lot.

• I was browsing in the bookstore at Union Station yesterday and ran across one of those page-a-day books which claimed to list 365 twisted but funny things to do. One of them was, "Everyone has a favorite dinosaur. Go to your local natural history museum and make sure yours is displayed appropriately." I was unreasonably amused to realize just how promptly you'd taken care of that in NYC (FSVO 'dinosaur' ≠ dinosaur, but still).

• Lenscrafters is very evil. That's inexcusable. I'm so sorry.

• You know Sweet Charity's running again, right? And that it has vidders?

I am not sure what is twisted about checking in on the giant ground sloth. Doesn't everybody do things like that? *g*

I thought Sweet Charity was dead forever? I am incredibly happy to hear it's back. But the vidders are always so expensive... Which I suppose is what comes of having a rare and much in demand skill, and curse the free market anyway.

Cherry blossoms coming your way soon! I'll try to post by tomorrow. I missed the start of the festival, but I think I made it before official peak bloom?

Eeek! Peak bloom's been moved forward to April 1-4. I need to get moving on that cherry blossom post. (And fic timing is unimportant – I'm grateful for any fic anyone is generous enough to write me.)
