i have several fanfic stashed away that deal with All That to my satisfaction, chief among them "Voices Carry"!

I am so relentlessly "glass half full" about my canons. Every now and then I run across scenes that I just have to turn away from -- most of "Family Ties" regarding Vala's Dad struck me that way. I just X it out.
