I am totally fascinated by the whole concept as well, and syn totally made me love her version of the clone. If you haven't read Ten Years Gone, you would love it.

It's so interesting that for you, one great story can overshadow your vision of an entire character. It's not like that for me at all. I agree that JD is a huge achievement and a wonderfully realized character, but reading about him makes me want to explore the possibilities even further, not stop there. And I agree: Thinking of Jack as a teenager again is just... totally guh and amazing, and I wish canon had done more with that idea.
