and in this particular ficlet of yours, issue of whether they're in an intimate relationship or not is not even relevant to the story you're telling, and to me it works either way.
i like the preslash label, myself, but i can see both sides of the label issue.
i pretty much don't use fic headers as teasers, though. more as purely labels, or, when necessary, warnings, though i don't write anything that needs a warning, generally. unless you want to spork your eyes out at the idea of SCHMOOP, which according to the signups of the Little Black Dress Ficathon, apparently some people in fact do lol.
anyway. i read a lot of gen, actually. i just like romance much better.
