The Sparrow--God that book hurt SO MUCH! I read it way back when it first came out. My recollection of it is a lot of angst and hurt, and comfort ... how much is possible? (Of course I also read the sequel, which trowels on more angst.) Beautifully, brilliantly written, but so painful I haven't been able to reread.
