I'm just saying it's the same kind of feeling for me, but it doesn't hold a candle to seeing pictures of hundreds of people in line finally able to marry the person they love and how fucking AWESOME is THAT?
I am TOTALLY and COMPLETELY with you ALL THE WAY.
I'm a romantic at heart and I have always been drawn to the stories of true love and tragic romance and star-crossed lovers and all that. And to me, gay marriage is a bit like that. People who truly love one another kept apart (on a certain level) by evil and unjust laws. The victory in CA is the slaying of a dragon, in a way.
I've always been a political person to a certain degree but also NOT political in many others. It's not ground into my bones in the same way as the idea is a being with the one you love who loves you back.
So I can totally see why this felt more momentous to you. In all reality, it was the same way for me as well.
